I'm Ben, a twenty-something bloke currently glued to Folkestone in the heart of the close-minded county known as Kent. Having said that I quite like it here at the moment, provided I can get out once in a while and bring myself back to reality. Luckily I am able to do this quite often!
By day (and quite often evening, night, and day again depending on how much, or little, free time from damn work I actually have), I am a Lighting Engineer slash guy who covers for many of my companies fuck-ups. By night, when I am not working I enjoy Guinness. It's good for you ya know! My work involves a bit of travelling home and abroad which is always good (and then the Guinness is indeed on work), aside from the classic situation of 3 days away, 5 days work to squeeze in, I wont get to see this country at all. Bitter? not at all, just sarcastic.
I have some awesome friends, a great family, an amazing girlfriend, but reluctantly live with what seems like completely useless house mates (not all of them!) in what can only be described as student-accommodation without the students. This should all be changing soon as I look for a new place to live. Folkestone again, as Canterbury is deemed too much of a step away for the time being. If i'm gonna go anywhere it has gotta be further really.
Musically I love a vast amount of bands but Kasabian are the mightiest of them all, closely followed by Bloc Party. I'm a big fan of local music and try as much as poss to see 3dbs Down, Howard's Alias, One Day Elliot, Battleska Galactica (because Lewis is gay, dontcha know) and Los Salvadores. Ye Wiles RIP. Bands that used to rock and have gone crap - Goldfinger, The Offspring, Reel Big Bish. I would still go and watch them anyday tho. I used to have hair very similar to Matt from Howard's Alias (he copied me fs), but it's now mostly gone which is very scarey.
And to the people the people who think Shaun of the Dead is the greatest film ever -> FUCK OFF if you haven't sat and loved Spaced. Its where the genius came from (and re-used the jokes from)! My comic heroes are currently Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran for Black Books, Simon Pegg for Spaced, Mitchell and Webb for Peep Show. I'd also like to thank Fran and Brian. You choose the sitcoms.
I am now starting to ramble.
